A Self-Assessment Tool for those teaching first-year students to find out how good they are at supporting student transition

“How good am I at supporting student transition?” Self-assessment tool

Main stakeholders will be consulted in order to define a competence profile of a higher education teacher ready to support diverse students in their transition to higher education. This profile will be expressed in learning outcomes of different focus and levels of complexity. The self-assessment tool based on the profile will invite academics to articulate their strengths and identify next developmental goals.

Additionally, this set of learning outcomes can guide

  • strategic planning of professional development activities; and
  • higher education institutions’ efforts to incentivize & reward inclusive excellence in teaching
